Tata Power Share Trading Tips

Tata Power is currently trading at Rs. 103.65, up by 2.00 points or 1.97% from its previous closing of Rs. 101.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 102.35 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 104.00 and Rs. 102.35 respectively. So far 1,02,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 121.50 on 21-Feb-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 80.65 on 20-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 106.95 and Rs. 101.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 24,596.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.75% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.52% and 16.51% respectively. 

Earlier, the company had signed a long term coal supply agreement with AGM, a 100% subsidiary of the Indonesian company BSSR.

Tata Power's existing Indonesia presence includes 30% equity stake in PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) and PT Arutmin Indonesia (Al). As part of the purchase, Tata Power has signed an off-take agreement which entitles it to purchase about 10 million tonnes of coal per annum.

Additionally, a consortium comprising of Tata Power, Origin Energy and PT Supraco is developing a geothermal project in Indonesia with approximately 240 MW of generation capacity. [Via]
