Sugar futures recover on NCDEX

Sugar futures recovered on NCDEX as speculators covered their short positions. Improved demand in the spot market mainly improved the prices. Demand for sugar from ice-cream and beverage makers typically rises during the summer. However, ample supplies in the physical markets limited the gains.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 2,962.00, up by 0.10% or Rs 3.00 from its previous closing of Rs 2,959.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 47,390 lots on NCDEX.
